The drill rig had arrived along with a compressor truck and a pipe truck. The men set up camp in the church and said that they would start first thing in the morning.
This is an ecumenical project between the churches in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to provide fresh clean drinking water for the village of Kalalayi in Southern Sudan and the surrounding villages.

Drill team camping in the Kalalayi church
There was a huge rain storm when we were waiting for the drill rig to show up. Over an inch of rain fell in 45 minutes and it continued to rain for another hour. All of the sudden we hears the rumble of the drill rig in the night air and the women were calling in kariya (high pitched yelps) to communicate that something very exciting is happening. It is so loud that you can hear the women in other compounds start to kariya and then they are communicating to the next compound. Soon everyone knows.

Sounds like a hallway in a middle school with all the high pitched yelling that something good is going to happen. Okay, so maybe the students aren't really saying something good is going to happen, they're just out of control hormonally.
Hmmmm......very interesting!!
