Welcome

Welcome to the “In Search of Water” blog site! Here you will see the chronicled events of the project leading up to the team’s departure from the United States and then daily while the team is in Africa. Feel free to comment on the posts as it is a great encouragement to the team and a great way to share in the experience together.

Here we go again!

We have just made the team applications available this past Sunday (Jan 22nd) with a deadline of February 1st to have them turned in. There is so much to do and so little time to get it done (that’s almost a country song title!). As of right now, myself (Doug Bartel) and Pastor Julius Badigo of Falls Community Church are the only two confirmed team members. We are looking for 2-3 others to join us. We need medical personnel and people with skill sets in either agriculture, construction or other related fields.

Once the team is assembled, there are many items that need to get completed quickly, as they are very time sensitive. Passports and vaccines are the most important things to jump on right away, in order to be ready for an April trip. We will also be looking for a team member that will not be going on the trip, but will provide support from home and help in organizing the details of the project.

Please pray for these initial details as God assembles the team. If you are interested in an application, please contact the church at hillcrest@siouxfallschurch.com or by phone, 605-371-0546.
